Police in the King Williams Town cluster say they've arrested more than 70 people during Operation Safer Festive Season.
Police spokesperson, lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa, says the operation was held this weekend in Dimbaza, Stutterheim and King Williams Town policing precincts.
She says the suspects are facing charges of possession of dagga, drunken driving and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, among other charges.
Mawisa says with the assistance of the traffic department, a total of 22 people were arrested for drunken driving.
She says the suspects aged between 19 - 67 will appear in different courts around the cluster soon.
