Police at Willowvale in the Eastern Cape are investigating the murder of four people in Dadamba Village, Willowvale.
Captain Jackson Manatha says police were informed that the shooting took place in Kulombethe Locality, overnight on Saturday.
The four victims were all shot in their upper bodies and died at the scene.
The victims have been identified as a 79-year-old man, Thuna Blayi, a 45-year-old woman Noyebanye Bobo, a 9-year-old boy Olwam Bobo and an 8-year-old girl Anathi Bobo.
Captain Manatha says the motive for the shooting has not yet been established and the Butterworth Cluster Commander has formed a special unit to investigate the murders.
