A Khoisan chief who is leading a small delegation to Cape Town on foot to highlight the plight of two marginalised communities, says they're making good progress.
Chief Khoisan SA and three others left Port Elizabeth on Saturday and are now making their way to Plettenberg Bay on Monday morning when they will rest .. as the more than 200 kilometre walk begins to take a small toll.
The group hope to arrive at parliament on the 25th where they will present a petition highlighting what they say is the oppression and marginalisation of the Damasonque and Damasqua tribes.
Speaking to Algoa FM News , Chief Khoisan SA said they've been well received along the route so far.
"Up until now we had a good reception, just on the second day, last night was a bit heavy on the guys. Today we were planning to go to Knysna but due to the guys feet being sore we decided we are first going to Plett and then go to Knysna and George" he said.
