A 19-year-old Kariega man accused of killing his teenage girlfriend and burying her body in a shallow grave has abandoned his bid for bail.
Kyle Barnes appeared in the Magistrates Court on Thursday for the murder of 16-year-old, Sinthia Williams, and the matter was postponed to the 24th of November.
Barnes handed himself over to police last Wednesday, before identifying the spot where he buried the body of his pregnant girlfriend in the yard of his grandparent's house in Bauhinia Crescent.
The victim's aunt, Jolene Williams, and other community members protested outside court on Thursday.
She told Algoa FM News that they're traumatised and heartbroken by the murder.
