Kariega rocked by cold-blooded murder

The Kariega Station Commander, Brigadier André Swart, has ordered the immediate implementation of the 72-hour activation plan following the murder of a 31-year-old man.

Captain Gerda Swart says its believed that three men entered a residence through the back door in Aalwyn Drive, Strelitzia Park, at about 15:30 on Friday.

The suspects tied the 31-year-old man's hands and then reportedly questioned him in another room.

Captain Swart says one of the intruders fired a shot at the victim, fatally wounding him in the head.

The suspects then fled from the scene in the victim's white GTI Golf 6 which was later found abandoned in Winterhoek Drive, Kariega.

The motive for the shooting is unkown at this stage and the killers remain at large.

Captain Swart says the name of the deceased will be released once the formal identification is completed.

A case of murder and house robbery is under investigation and anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact their nearest police station.
