A man handed himself over to the police in Kamesh at Kariega, after his teenage son died due to a stab wound on Sunday.
SAPS spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg says members attended to a complaint of a murder at the Provincial hospital.
She says on arrival, they were informed that the 18-year-old boy was earlier admitted with a stab wound to the back.
The teen's father allegedly handed himself over where he was arrested on a charge of murder.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says the circumstances surrounding the death of Bryton Engelbrecht are still under investigation.
The 50-year-old suspect will appear in court on Tuesday.
