The K9 unit in Gqeberha arrested two suspects who were busy digging up cables behind the cemetery in Humewood on Saturday afternoon.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says members received information and responded, but due to the denseness of the bush, patrol dogs, Bentley and Mufasa were released to locate the suspects.
She says Bentley apprehended the first suspect that was still in the trench busy digging and Mufasa cornered the second suspect.
The two men, aged 57 and 58 are being detained on charges of tampering, damaging, or destroying essential infrastructure.
They will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Monday.
