A 20-year-old man who allegedly stole cutlery and lightbulbs from a shop in Korsten, Port Elizabeth will appear in court soon on a charge of housebreaking.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the K9 unit was patrolling Durban Road when they noticed two men climbing out of a shop window with stolen goods.
The men started running when they noticed police but one of the dogs managed to catch one of the suspects who was arrested on the spot.
Naidu says he was one of three people arrested in the early hours of Friday morning for trying to break into a shop in Durban road.
In the second incident, two men activated a shop's alarm and Gelvandale police immediately responded.
The suspects, aged 32 and 36, were arrested not far from the scene.
They will appear in court on Friday.
