Judgement has been reserved in the appeal of Nelson Mandela Bay ANC councillor, Andile Lungisa against his assault conviction and a two-year jail sentence.
The National Prosecuting authority confirmed that both the State and the defence presented their arguments in the Grahamstown High Court on Wednesday.
Lungisa was convicted of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and sentenced to two years behind bars last year.
The PE Magistrate's Court found him guilty of intentionally smashing a glass jug over DA councillor, Rano Kayser's head during the infamous council brawl back in 2016.
NPA spokesperson, Tsepo Ndwalaza says they will be informed by the judges on when the ruling will be handed down.
