A 46 year old Jeffreys Bay man died in hospital, after he was found in a burning shack in Mandela Bay on Friday evening.
Lt-Col Naidu says neighbours saw smoke coming out of Samuel Ferreira's house, and when they opened the door, they found Ferreira inside with multiple burn wounds.
She says he was transported by ambulance to Dora Nginza hospital in Port Elizabeth. He died on Saturday morning.
Naidu says the cause of the fire is not yet known, however police suspect that a burning candle or a cigarette could have started the blaze.
