Jackal carcassess found at Addo Elephant National Park

The carcasses of eighteen jackals and two crows have been found at Addo Elephant National Park near Port Elizabeth.
SANParks Reginal Communications Mananger, Fayroush Ludick says the carcassess were discovered on Sunday in the main game viewing area of the park.
She says jackals play an important role in the park in terms of restoring the natural ecological balance.
Ludick says the animals cause of death is unknown at this stage.
"We had reports from guests that they saw some jackal carcassess next to the side of the road in the park. Our rangers went out and subsequently they found 18 jackals and two crows. We are not sure of cause of death but samples will be taken to Jhb for tests" she said
