A Jeffreys Bay doctor appeared in court on charges of sexually assaulting four boys, three of whom are brothers.
Police spokesperson, lieutenant-colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the 54-year-old doctor was arrested on Wednesday morning by members of the Humansdorp Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
She says the case against the doctor, who cannot be identified yet until he has pleaded, was postponed to October 26. He was granted bail of R2000.
Naidu says its 'its alleged that four boys were sexually assaulted by the doctor when they visited his surgery for treatment."
"The (alleged) assaults started in 2003 when the children were about 8 to 10-years-old. The parent of one of the children opened a case against the doctor in August 2012," she said in a statement.
Naidu says his bail conditions prohibit him from treating any male children no is he allowed to make any contact with the family of the alleged victims.
