Government is investigating the legal and institutional processes necessary to set up new municipal towns in the areas of Coffee Bay and Hole in the Wall on the Wild Coast.
Metro Minute reports that the Eastern Cape Socio-Economic Consultative Council has called for proposals for a service provider to conduct a review of legal and spatial planning issues in the area.
The review will take place against the background of the Eastern Cape Government’s plan to have the Wild Coast declared a Special Economic Zone.
The Department of Trade and Industry is to conduct feasibility studies on 10 potential Special Economic Zones.
