The Eastern Cape Department of Health has launched an investigation into how Hospital linen and clothes from a hospital in Komani were found dumped and burnt in Cathcart.
The linen was found on the side of the N6 towards Cathcart on Tuesday night.
A spokesperson for the Department of Health Size Kupelo says MEC Sindiswa Gomba sent out a team to the sight where it was confirmed that it belonged to the Komani Hospital.
He says this was just days after more linen and clothes were found dumped in the Mlungisi township in Komani over the weekend.
Kupelo says the clothes found over the weekend were part of a laundromat tender awarded to a service provider which ended last year.
MEC Gomba has promised to leave no stone unturned in the probe.
She called the actions unacceptable and shameless.
Kupelo says the Department will be transparent and will release the findings of their investigation into the matter.
