A Grahamstown woman has been arrested on charges of child abandonment.
Govender says a couple found a 5 month old baby girl in Joza township on Saturday and took her to a nearby hospital.
The child's intoxicated mother was arrested when she came to the police station on Sunday looking for her child.
She will appear in court soon.
Meanwhile police in Grahamstown are investigating a case of Arson after a wholesaler caught on Sunday night.
