The Nelson Mandela Bay Ratepayers Association says it will be presenting a report to government agencies today detailing alleged irregularities in Nelson Mandela Bay’s Integrated Public Transport System.
The report, running into hundreds of pages, will be presented to the Hawks, National Treasury and the Public Protector.
Algoa FM News has an electronic copy of the document.
The document states that the investigation into the IPTS commenced subsequent to alleged irregularities being detected during the court case involving one company Lumen Technologies.
It says the report includes, as a baseline, certain vendors relating to the IPTS project who have received payment in excess of 2 million rand for the 12 month period between the First of July 2013 to the 30th of June this year.
The report says that no company or person mentioned in the document is being accused of any crime or wrong-doing.
It goes on to say that the report, compiled with the assistance of Afriforum, had been written for the sole purpose of highlighting possible irregular, fruitless & wasteful expenditure relating to the IPTS project.
