A 17-year-old Port Elizabeth youth was wounded in a suspected gang-related shooting in West End on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says the teenager was wounded in the back and legs when a lone gunman opened fire.
It appears the intended target was a man sitting in a car in Bede Street.
He escaped unharmed.
Labans says the youth was walking in the direction of the car when the gunman, who approached from behind, fired as many as 14 shots.
He says the gunman fled the scene, and is still at large.
