Illegal electricity connection kills child in East London

An eight-year-old boy has been killed by an illegal electricity connection in East London.

Captain Hazel Mqala says the tragedy occurred at around six pm on Saturday.   

She says the boy was playing in bushes in Scenery Park when he touched an illegal connection of electricity.

The boy's family has been informed and an inquest has been opened into the child's death
