Two foreign nationals have been arrested for trying to con an Eastern Cape woman out of thousands of rands.
Free State police said the men from Cameroon and Nigeria were arrested in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Spokesperson, Sergeant Sinah Mpakane, said the woman was approached by the men while on holiday in Sterkspruit in the Eastern Cape promising to double her money if she gave them R50 000.
She said the woman gave the men R20 000 and then told them she was travelling to Bloemfontein where she would give them the balance.
“On arrival in Bloemfontein she went to withdraw the money, but she decided to report the matter to the police,” said Mpakane.
She said police accompanied the victim to the Brandwag Centre where the suspects were arrested.
The men, aged 40 and 50, will appear in court on Monday on a charge of fraud.
