The trial of six men linked to illegal dog fighting in Plettenberg Bay starts in the Knysna Regional Court on Monday.
They are part of a group of 10 men who were charged with illegal pitbull fighting at Plett two years ago.
In May this year three of the accused - Johannes Joubert of Johannesburg, Ferdinand Endeman of Somerset West and Anthony Blake of Plettenberg Bay - pleaded guilty and were each handed a R15 000 fine or 18 months in prison.
In July - Billy Marais, another Plettenberg Bay resident whose property was used for the fights, was sentenced to 18 months correctional supervision under house arrest and was also handed a R20 000 fine.
He also has to do 288 hours of community service at the SPCA.
The remaining six - Donald Wall of Port Elizabeth, Rudi and Peter Wall of Queenstown and Owen Butler, Yorick Grobbelaar and Anton van Blerk of East London - have pleaded not guilty and their trial starts on Monday.
