A man from Kirkwood will appear in the town's magistrate's court on Monday in connection with six murders, some dating back to 2007.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Gerda Swart, says the man also faces numerous charges of attempted murder, rape and attempted rape.
She says the most recent cases linked to the suspect occurred in August this year when 46-year-old Regina Pram was raped and murdered.
Swart says another woman was also attacked and raped by the suspect last month, but survived the ordeal.
He was arrested on September 18th.
Swart says police will oppose any application for bail.
