Eastern Cape police are continuing the search for two men who robbed and stabbed well-known lawyer, advocate Dali Mpofu.
His wife, Mpumi, says his condition is improving and he remains in a stable condition in an East London hospital.
Police said Mpofu sustained two stab wounds during the robbery last week while walking on an East London beach.
Mpofu is representing miners involved in last year's police shootings in Marikana in North West.
The former SABC CEO was believed to be on a short break before the Farlam Commission of Inquiry into the Marikana shootings resumes next week.
