Hundreds evacuated in Port St Johns after heavy rain

Hundreds of people who live in low lying areas in the Port St Johns are being evacuated after heavy rain during the night.
Police spokesperson Captain John Fobian says rescue workers, the municipality and police are assisting residents and placing them in two of the community halls in town.
He says it is still raining and water levels are rising.
Meanwhile the Lusikisi road will have one lane closed after rain caused a mudslide. Provincial traffic will implement a stop and go in the area
