The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has launched the 100-day count-down to next year’s African Cup of Nations football tournament.
The launch, at Zwide stadium on Wednesday, came a day before Council is due to be briefed on how the tournament will be funded.
Recently, Economic Development and Recreational Services executive director Zolile Siswana said the Metro would have to fork out just over R11m for the tournament - money which was not budgeted for.
The Eastern Cape Government has committed R15.4m to the event.
