A 32-year old woman from Humansdorp has been found in Cape Town, almost fourteen years after she went missing in June 2000.
According to Missing Children South Africa, Elize Malgas was 19 years old when she was coerced into joining a friend on a trip to Cape Town.
Spokesperson for Missing Children South Africa, Michelle Knowles says according to the family, Malgas had an accident in her younger years and had lost the capability to remember.
Knowles says when her friends left Cape Town after the trip in 2000, Malgas was left behind.
"According to the family Elize had an accident at school and fell on her head. That resulted in her being a slow learner. While she was in Cape Town her friends left her in the township and she had to fend for herself. Elize became a domestic worker within the greater Cape Town area." she said.
Malgas has been reunited with her family in Humansdorp, but has since made a life for herself in Cape Town, where she is married with three children.
