A 41 year old woman has been arrested on the N1 between Beaufort West and Leeu Gamka for being in possesion of a large amount of Tik.
Police spokesperson, Captain Bernadine Steyn says the Central Karoo K9 unit based in Beaufort West pulled over a Toyota Quantum minibus, and searched the vehicle.
She says police found the drugs, with an estimated street value of R4.5-million in her luggage.
Steyn says the case against the suspect, who is from Wynberg, was temporarily withdrawn pending the outcome of laboratory tests.
She says should the results confirm the substance is in fact Tik, the suspect will be re-arrested and brought before a court of law.
