Four men, aged between 28 and 41 were arrested in Graaff Reinet late on Thursday night for the illegal possession of mandrax.
Police spokesperson, Luietenant. Livuhani Hani says two police officials noticed a suspicious looking VW sedan at around 11 o'clock, and called for back up.
The vehicle was later pulled over by a patrol vehicle, and searched.
Hani says 14 bags of mandrax tablets, with a street value of R1.4 million, as well as 10 bags of dagga were confiscated.
The vehicle was seized and the four suspects will appear in court next week.
