Police at Kinkelbos outisde Port Elizabeth have made one of the biggest dagga busts when they stopped and search a vehicle during a routine operation on Monday.
Police spokesperson, captain Andre' Beetge, says a 34 year old man was arrested and will appear in court soon.
"At 11:00 a white Mercedes Benz light delivery bus was searched and a dagga bust of 71 large bags was made. The bus only had a 34 year old male driver which was arrested for dealing in dagga," said Beetge.
"The bags each weighed approximately 50 kilograms each, making the total weight of dagga to be in the region of about 3.5 tons. The estimated street value could be well over the R5 million mark," he added.
This is the second big bust in the Eastern Cape this month.
