A housing project in Mdantsane has still not been handed over to beneficiaries because Buffalo City municipality terminated the building contract.
Buffalo City spokesperson, Keith Ngesi, says the housing project in unit P in Mdantsane was stopped because it had not been properly procured.
He says in spite of this, the contractor had continued to build houses which Buffalo City will not be held accountable for.
Ngesi says the houses were never formally handed over to the municipality because the contract had been terminated.
He says 79 houses in the project had been vandalised.
