The Nelson Mandela Bay fire department is battling a raging bush fire between the coastal villages of Kini Bay and Seaview.
The Metro says it received an emergency call of a vegetation fire in Albatross Road, Seaview at 05h35 on Tuesday.
Three homes at Kini Bay have reportedly been damaged by the fire.
Traffic officials told AlgoaFM News that the Seaview Road and Kini Bay Roads have been closed because of heavy smoke and that motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Metro spokesperson Kupido Baron says they currently have nine vehicles and a number of firefighters on the scene.
He says the fire is NOT under control as the dense vegetation is making direct access to the flames difficult.
Baron could also only verify that one home at Kini Bay had sustained damage to its entertainment area.
Meanwhile, the N2 near the Tsitsikamma toll gate at Natures Valley has been re-opened after being closed on Monday because of a wildfire.
Working on Fire (WOF) says they had teams working throughout the night and 100 fresh firefighters from six teams arrived on Tuesday morning to take over the shift.
WOF says even though the road is open, motorists are advised to be cautious and vigilant.
A spokesperson for WOF Nthabiseng Mokone says two separate fires in Coldstream and Koomansbos are still ongoing.
