A 25-year-old man is in police custody after a homeowner and his neighbour made a citizens arrest earlier this week.
Spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart says on Tuesday the man was watching TV with three minors at his house in Zwide when someone knocked on the door.
She says the men pretended to look for someone and then asked for water.
Captain Swart says the complainant told them to go to the back of his house and when he opened the door two of the men produced firearms.
She says they stole the TV set and loaded it into a Toyota Quantum before fleeing the scene.
The complainant rushed to his neighbour for help and when they returned to the house they caught one suspect still inside.
Captain Swart says he did not have a weapon and was overpowered by the two men who then alerted police.
The suspect will appear in the New Brighton Magistrates Court on Friday.
More arrests are imminent.
