A 34-year-old hitchhiker is expected to appear in the Humandsdorp Magistrates court on Friday for the illegal possession of Khat.
Police Spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart says police were busy with a routine patrol on the N2 on Thursday when they pulled over a truck and searched the passenger.
The man had 480 khat plants with him with an estimated value of about R2 400.
Swart says just 15 minutes before the arrest they busted another 33-year-old man who had 105 dagga trees planted around his house.
Police also confiscated boxes and bags full of harvested dagga with a street value of R50 000.
He too will appear in the Humandsdorp Magistrates court on Friday
