Despatch police are trying to track down the driver of a vehicle who was involved in an accident on Monday night in which a person was killed.
Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, says the person failed to stop at the accident scene where a 52-year-old man was killed.
She says the driver of a car travelling behind another vehicle on Algoa Road reported hearing something falling onto her vehicle.
Swart says the female driver stopped immediately and saw the body of a man lying in the road.
She says the driver of the car in front of her, did not stop at the accident scene and is now being sought by police.
Despatch police have opened a culpable homicide docket, while the name of the deceased is still being withheld.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who is able to assist with information about the driver or his/her whereabouts, is urged to contact Despatch police.
