Boardwalk and Casino and Entertainment World has adopted a Hip Hop theme for their Easter weekend festivities.
The programme was unveiled to the media last night.
The Boardwalk's PR and Entertainment manager, Caley Phillips, says there's everything for young and old.
See full statement below:
"A weekend jam packed with entertainment for the entire family is planned to entertain both young and old at The Boardwalk. The little ones are in for a treat with a programme lined up that will have their adrenaline pumping the entire weekend. Easter Friday starts off with a biscuit decorating competition whereby kids are given elements in which to use their creative minds and decorate biscuits using their wildest imagination. Easter Saturday keeps the little ones entertained with a variety of games played in the Billabong forecourt whereby fun prizes will be up for grabs."
"Loads of excitement can be expected on Easter Sunday from 12pm whereby kids aged 7 - 15 years are encouraged to enter the Eggstreme Hunt. This activity promises to be loads of fun as teams of four make their way around The Boardwalk in an 'adventure race' format whereby clues lead the little ones to a large Easter egg. The Eggstreme Hunt not only keeps their adrenaline pumping, but keeps their minds stimulated and encourages them to put their thinking caps on although it's still school holidays!"
"To end off the Easter weekend, a hot cross bun eating competition for kids is planned on Monday, 9 April. This activity promises to be loads of fun as The Boardwalk crowns a king or queen for eating the provided Hot Cross Bun the fastest! Throughout the weekend kids can expect to see familiar characters like Simba, Mr Pritt, buskers bending balloons and Popsi the Clown whom will be responsible for face painting and a magic show from Saturday to Monday in the Billabong forecourt."
"A colouring in competition will take place daily from 12pm to 3pm and kids can have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. This Easter weekend promises to be the funkiest, freshest yet as The Boardwalk plans to keep kids entertained the entire weekend.
If mom and dad are wondering what about the 'older folk', look no further as a weekend of live music has been planned that will make you want to hip hop along to great music by the likes of Charmaine Allison, Anja Swart, Helenvale Brass Band and Yolande Swart. These local artists will be performing in the retail area while you relax having lunch or dinner at one of your favourite restaurants in town."
"Kicking off the live entertainment programme is Charmaine Allison that has recently hosted her own show in the Vodacom Amphitheatre whereby she received standing ovations at her Whitney Houston tribute. Charmaine was born to sing and so she will do on Friday, 6 April from 6 to 9pm at The Boardwalk, absolutely free. If "Dancing Queen" or "Mama Mia" happens to be your favourite Abba hits, then what better way to end off the Easter weekend than with an Abba tribute done by an international cast Voulez Vous in the Vodacom Amphitheatre on Monday 9 April at 8pm. Voulez Vous has been touring South Africa and what a privilege to host them in the Bay."
"Fun for everyone at The Boardwalk this Easter, so hip hop on down to be a part of the funkiest Easter yet!"
