Major roads across the Eastern Cape were busy on Friday as holidaymakers returned home.
Spokesman for provincial traffic Tshepo Machaea said the N2 heading to KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape had high volumes of traffic.
"The N6 from East London to the Free State is also quite busy as well as the N10 towards the Northern Cape and the R61 heading towards the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal,
There is also a lot of activity on the R58 and the R72, which is a coastal route."
Machaea says they are expecting the roads to be busy throughout the weekend with traffic peaking on Sunday
