The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has confirmed the suspension of several high profile officials - including communications director Roland Williams.
In a statement released on Monday, Municipal spokesperson Mthubanzi Mniki said Mr Socks Nkanjeni for supply chain management and Ms Carle Ritter Erasmus - also in Communictions - had also been suspended.
A letter signed by acting city manager Mzwake Clay confirms the suspensions.
The suspensions relate to a range of allegations of irregularity and gross negligence, failure or refusal to co-operate with an investigation, and violation of the provisions of the Municipal Finance Management Act.
This is in addition to 12 other people who were suspended since June 2015 - disicplinary hearing will be commencing soon.
Clay adds that a letter of intention to suspend Mvuleni Mapu for Human Settlements will be served on him as soon as the office of the Municipal Manager can contact him. He is currently on sick leave.
A letter of intention to suspend Chris Jamda - also of Human Settlements - has been served on him. He is expected to make representations on Tuesday.
