Eastern Cape emergency services have rushed to the Keiskammhoek area where a helicopter reportedly went down in the surrounding forests.
The helicopter was apparently taking fire-fighting teams from Working on Fire to the area to battle the blaze which continues to rage.
Police emergency services spokesperson, captain John Fobian, says the crash site has not yet been located.
He also says its not known whether there are any fatalities or survivors.
Meanwhile, fire-fighters from Working on Fire are involved in battling the blaze.
