A heavily armed gang has robbed a G4 security vehicle of an undisclosed amount of a cash in a daring daylight robbery in Walmer, Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, said that the gang, who were travelling in a Ford Ranger bakkie, bumped the security vehicle off the road.
He says 11 men, armed with AK 47 rifles and 9mm pistols, forced open the back door of the security vehicle and assaulted the guards.
Labans says they took their firearms and two bags of cash before fleeing.
He says one of their getaway vehicles was found in Prospect Road.
