The death toll of a horrific head-on collision on the R346 between King William's Town and Stutterheim has risen to seven.
A bakkie collided head-on with a Sedan killing four passengers instantly on Thursday.
Three other people were taken to hospital but they have since also died.
Eastern Cape Department of Transport spokesperson, Unathi Bhinqose says the drivers of both vehicles are among the deceased.
He says there were a total of 12 passengers on the bakkie and six people travelling in the Sedan.
Bhinqose says the Sedan was travelling from Stutterheim towards King Williams Town when it collided with the bakkie travelling in the opposite direction.
The exact cause of the accident will form part of the investigation.
The names of the deceased have not yet been released.
