Eastern Cape police have confirmed that the horns of two rhino have been illegally removed from animals at Kwantu Game Reserve.
Provincial spokesperson, Brigadier Marinda Mills says the animals are still alive.
She says the investigation is being conducted by the Hawks in the Eastern Cape.
No arrests have yet been made.
Kwantu Game Reserve CEO, Shakir Jeeva, says the two adult rhino are mobile and are receiving medical treatment.
