The Hawks arrested two Buffalo City Metro law enforcement officers in East London today for allegedly taking a bribe.
Hawks spokesperson Captain Paul Ramoloko says the two officers aged 28 and 37 stopped a man on the Batting Bridge in May for being in possession of dagga.
He says its alleged that they told the suspect that they wanted payment before taking him to police station.
The man later opened a case against the officers.
Ramaloko adds that the two officers will appear in the East London magistrates court on Tuesday on charges of corruption.
