Hartenbos father sentenced for assaulting his baby

The father from Hartenbos man who abused his four month old baby boy in 2012, has been jailed after being found guilty of attempted murder .

The man was sentenced on Thursday.

Regional Magistrate Daniel Bok says the 28 year old accused is guilty of attempted murder. He pleaded that he was temporarily insane when he assaulted his baby boy in August 2012. A pediatrician testified during the trial that the victim will never be normal again. The baby boy suffered from a serious head injury and had broken ribs. His one leg was also broken. The accused was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
