East London Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a half decomposed body found lying on an illegal electrical connection cable.
Police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Marais says the body of a man was discovered in bushes near Fitchett Road and Ziphunzana Bypass over the weekend.
Marais says at this stage the motive for the death is unknown and police have opened an inquest docket.
The death of the deceased comes after several warnings to the community by police, relating to the connection of illegal electricity cables.
Meanwhile, a 37-year old woman was electocuted on Monday while fetching water in Intshawini near Stanger in KwaZulu-Natal.
Emergency medical services spokesperson Robert Mckenzie, says the woman was walking barefoot with a bucket of water on her head.
He said the bucket apparently touched a low hanging live wire being used to conduct electricity and water spilled out causing sparks.
Mckenzie says a 39 -year old man who tried to help the woman was seriously injured.
