A gyrocopter pilot, who sustained serious injuries after his aircraft crashed on a farm in the Patensie area on Friday afternoon, has died.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer, Gerda Swart, says 23-year-old Marco Martino from France was reportedly busy dropping coddling moths into a field as part of a pest control problem when the gyrocopter crashed and caught alight.
She says he was airlifted to a hospital in Port Elizabeth.
It's understood that Martino sustained burns wounds over 90 percent of his body.
Swart says he passed away on Saturday morning, shortly after midnight.
