Guy arrested for selling 'dagga goods' in Sedgefield out on warning

A 31-year-old man who was arrested for allegedly selling products containing dagga in Sedgefield has been released on warning.

The man was supposed to appear in court on Tuesday but was released on warning on Sunday, pending further investigation.

The shop, which reportedly claims to be a nursery and coffee shop, opened its doors for the first time on Saturday.

Police Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says they received information about the swop and swooped in only hours after it opened for business.

The shop, situated on the main road of the town, was reportedly selling cannabis oil, rusks and even wedding cakes.

Pojie says the confiscated goods containing dagga to the value of R80 000.

The case was postponed to the 15th of August.

Algoa Fm News was told that the suspect is not the owner of the shop but only an employee.
