The Hawks are investigating a cash-in-transit robbery in Thembalethu in George that took place on Thursday morning.
National police spokesperson, Brenda Muridili, says two private security officers were robbed of their firearms and a substantial amount of money by unknown suspects.
She says they were accosted at an intersection at the Thembalethu Mall at around 7.30 am.
Muridili says the suspects fled in a Maroon Isuzu bakkie.
Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact their nearest police station.
