Nine homes were destroyed in a fire in Mossel Bay on Wednesday.
Police say the homes in KwaNonqaba burned down in what they believe was a fire that started as a result of an electrical short circuit shortly after power was restored after load shedding.
No one was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, the Mossel Bay Municipality released a statement on Thursday in which it asked residents to report illegal power connections.
Spokesperson Nickey le Roux says 135 illegal connections were removed in several operations in the past month.
