Detectives in Jeffreys Bay are investigating a gruesome murder following the discovery of a decomposed body on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says community members alerted police when they found the body in some bushes behind the new RDP houses in Pellsrus.
She says the deceased sustained several open wounds to his head and torso with a large laceration visible on his chest.
Colonel Naidu says it appears that some of his organs may be missing.
She says it is expected that the body was dumped in Pellsrus.
Any person who can assist police in identifying the man is urged to make contact with the police.
The victim was an African male approximately 30-40-years-old.
