The Buffalo City Metro has welcomed the arrest of a group of people at an illegal social gathering at a home in King Williams Town over the weekend.
Municipality spokesperson Samkelo Ngwenya says they will ensure that those breaking the law are also fined.

Ngwenya also called on liquor outlet operators to adhere to lockdown regulations and not to sell alcohol outside the days stipulated.
He emphasized that social public gatherings are not allowed under level 3 regulations and that the risk of a massive increase in infections is now greater than ever.
Ngwenya told AlgoaFM News on Monday that since the lockdown started, law enforcement authorities have conducted operations at 263 liquor outlets in the Buffalo City Metro to ensure that regulations are implemented.
