Great Brak River police arrest suspect following murder of elderly man

A 57-year old man has been arrested by Great Brak River police in connection with the murder of a 76-year old resident from a small village,known as The Island.

Correspondent Louise Karsten reports that a task team arrested the suspect in his home in Wolwedans only a few hours after the body of Ron Wiggett was discovered in his home on Monday.

The victim's home was a mess and provisionally robbery seemed to be the motive behind the murder.

The man allegedly died from a stab wound.

The suspect will appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrates court soon on a charge of murder.
